A handle 10 being the driver of a feed member 2 is attached to the top of a feed member 2. Moreover, a coupling 11 to which a magnetostrictive member 6 is to be connected is attached to the bottom of the feed member 2. Then, a work abutment body 12 is attached through an insulating member 13 to the bottom of the magnetostrictive member 6. The magnetostrictive member 6 causes magnetostrictive phenomena by supplying a coil 14 with a magnetostrictive current, and a work 8 is pressed by a work abutment body 12. Since the sending of the work abutment body 12 by the handle 10 being a driver and the generation of the pressure by the magnetostrictive member 6 are performed apart each independently, the driver gets off with small-scale power.
