Title:
PRESSURE INGOT MAKING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61238457
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve yield and to reduce the cost of ingot production by pressurizing a molten steel in a runner part from a pouring pipe part to transfer part thereof into a casting mold right after the end of casting.

CONSTITUTION: A pressurizing device having an iron juncture 10, a connecting fitting 11, a hose 12, a lifting device and a cylinder for pressurization pressurizes the molten steel under a suitable pressure by using a non-oxidizing gas such as gaseous argon upon ending of casting. More specifically, the device pressurizes the molten steel in the form of forcing upward the molten steel level in the pouring pipe 3 by as much as (h) or pushing in the molten steel nnin a runner 2. Part or the greater part of the metal loss-component in the conventional practice is transferred into the casting mold 1 and is made into an ingot.
