To provide a pressure intensifying cylinder for brake system capable of preventing a braking feeling from deteriorating by reducing a noneffective fluid amount increased until the occurrence of a breaking force when a braking pressure is increased by the pressure intensifying/cylinder.
Because the movement of a stepped piston 35 is limited by a spring 40 until a pressure in a pressure receiving chamber rises to a specified pressure, a hydraulic fluid in a master cylinder is fed directly to wheel cylinder until the stepped piston 35 is moved so as to bring the wheel cylinder in contact with a lining. After the pressure in the pressure receiving chamber 36 reaches a specified pressure, a pressure in the wheel cylinder is increased by a difference in areas of the stepped piston 35 for performing a brake application. Thus the braking feeling is prevented from deteriorating without increasing the noneffective liquid amount.
