PURPOSE: To minimize generation of impulse waves of feeding and consumer pipelines by quickly switching an expansion device to the operating state according to the reduction of gas pressure below a threshold value by a pressure adjusting valve of a high pressure energy regenerating and pressure reducing system.
CONSTITUTION: A system 30 is provided with a pressure adjusting valve 17A between a low pressure feed line 18A on the consumer side and a high pressure feed line 13A, and a bypass line having a rotary-type expansion device 31 as a branch passage. High-pressure gas in the feed line 13A is expanded to generate low-pressure gas to be fed to the feed line 18A on the consumer side through a constant work load and a shutoff valve 32. The expansion device 31 is connected to a generator 33 for converting the work load into electricity. In the operating state, high-pressure gas is allowed to flow through a valve 34 and the shutoff valve 35, and a preheater 37 prevents steam from being frozen. The state of a device 40 is quickly switched to the operating state according to the reaction of the flow rate beyond a specified threshold value by a control system 47.
