Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose presence or absence of failure of a pressure sensor with high accuracy while minimizing delay.SOLUTION: Each fuel injection time of a fuel injection valve is measured (S104, S106), whether all of the measured fuel injection times are outside of a prescribed standard injection time range or not (S108). Failure or abnormality of a pressure sensor is diagnosed (S110) when it is determined that all of the measured fuel injection times are out of the prescribed standard injection time range, on the other hand, normality of the pressure sensor is diagnosed (S112) when any of the fuel injection times exists in the standard injection time range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
