PURPOSE: To perform exact pressure testing of an object to be pressure-tested consisting of a porous material or a material lined with the porous material by dissolving an inorg. or org. high polymer material in hydrostatic test water and eliminating the hydrostatic pressure drop owing to penetration, absorption, running, etc. of test water into the porous material.
CONSTITUTION: The water for pressure test is prepd. by incorporating preferably a defoaming agent into an aq. soln. of the org. high polymer such as methyl cellulose or the like or the inorg. high polymer material such as water glass. Penetration and absorption of the test water into the porous material and the running of the water through the porous part are prevented by using such test water in the pressure test of the porous material of a pressure vessel and pressure pipe consisting of ceramics, etc. or the pressure vessel and pressure pipe lined with the porous material such as ceramics, mortar, etc., by which the pressure drop is eliminated and the execution of the exact pressure test is made possible.
