Abstract:
A pressure accumulator or the like comprises a casing 10 having a port (not shown) at each end and an elastomeric separator 17 interposed between the ports. An annular supporting member 26 receives an enlarged bead 25 at the open mouth portion of the bladder in an annular channel in the support member and is fixed to the inner wall of the casing. The bead 25 is deformed in the mounted position thereof so as to define a fluid-tight seal in a space C between the supporting member 26 and casing 10. The spacing E of the lower end 34 of the supporting member from the inner wall of the casing is equal to or greater than the wall thickness of the bladder. The maximum radial thickness of the bead 25 is between two and one-half and three times the thickness of the wall of the bladder and the lower flank 35 of the channel is perpendicular to the wall of the bladder in its normal position.
