PURPOSE: To pressurize molten metal poured in a mold and to prevent the development of casting defect by arranging a storing chamber of compressed fluid adjacent to a pressure vessel containing a mold and forming a casting apparatus to the constitution for instantaneously opening the compressed fluid in the storing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: By ascending a cylinder 1, the pressure vessel 6 is opened, and after setting the mold 3, the cylinder 1 is descended to close the pressure vessel 6. Successively, by descending the cylinder 2, a valve 5 is made to close and the compressed gas is filled up into the storing chamber 4. Further, after completing filling-up of the molten metal 11 into cavity in the mold 3, by immediately ascending a piston in the cylinder 2 to open the valve 5, pressure in the pressure vessel 6 is instantaneously raised to the target pressure valve. Then, the pressure in the pressure vessel 6 is held until the molten metal 11 in the mold 3 completes solidification, and the development of casting defect during solidifying process, is prevented.
