Abstract:
To provide a rice cooking pretreatment method and a rice cooking pretreatment system that can restrain cracking of pre-washed rice grains when separating a mixed fluid of rice-washing water and pre-washed rice grains into rice-washing water and pre-washed rice grains.SOLUTION: A rice cooking pretreatment method includes, at least: a rice-washing step of washing refined rice grains by flowing rice washing water and refined rice grains in rice washing means to wash the refined rice grains as pre-washed rice grains R2, and sending the pre-washed rice grains together with rice-washing water; and a separation step of separating a mixed fluid of the rice washing water and the pre-washed rice grains into rice-washing water that passes through a plurality holes and pre-washed rice grains that do not pass through the plurality of holes by making the mixed fluid of the rice-washing water and the pre-washed rice grain reach a wall surface 43a having the plurality holes therein. In the separation step, the direction of flow of the mixed fluid of the rice-washing water and pre-washed rice grains that has dropped and flowed in a substantially vertical direction after finishing the rice-washing step to a substantially horizontal direction from the substantial vertical direction, and then is made to reach the wall surface having the plurality of holes therein.
