Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the adhesion of a vinylidene chloride latex in coating.
CONSTITUTION: The pH of a vinylidene chloride latex containing glycidyl methacrylate as a comonomer is adjusted to 0.8-2.0 by the addition of an inorganic acid (hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid). The adhesion of the latex to a plastic substrate especially in a wet state in coating is markedly improved.
