Title:
PREVENTING METHOD OF FRONT-END WARP IN SEAMLESS STEEL PIPE ROLLING MILL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60170514
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the front-end warp of a steel pipe by making the ratio of rolling torque between both rolls approximately uniform at a numerical value within a specific range and making the center height of a pipe stock at the inlet side with respect to both rolls coincide with a rolling pass line.

CONSTITUTION: In reeler-rolling a pipe stock 14 by rolls 11, 12, the ratio of rolling torque between the rolls 11, 12 is adjusted so as to be approximately uniform within a range of 0.90W1.0 by controlling the field current of driving motors 11A, 12A of rolls 11, 12. In this way, the pipe stock 14 is prevented from being pressed against a lower chute 15 during rolling, and the center height of pipe stock 14 at the inlet side with respect to the rolls 11, 12 is also made to coincide with a designed pass line PL. By this method, the need for adjusting the height of pipe stock due to the wear of chute 15 is eliminated, and a seamless steel pipe is prevented from producing a warp at its front end during rolling.
