Title:
PREVENTING STRUCTURE FOR LIQUEFACTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3008319
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To protect a structure from earthquake by preventing the liquefaction of sandy ground.
CONSTITUTION: Piles 5 are driven into sandy ground S to protect a structure 1 where a building 6 is constructed by support of the piles 5 in the ground S. A void pressure-adjusting layer 3 is formed between the ground S and the structure 1, having a granular layer 9 and a fluid pathway 4 through which the upper fluid comes in and out of the layer 9 from the layer 3. When earthquake occurs, void water is pumped up from the ground S in such a way as to enable fluid 4 to come into the layer 9 and the ground 5 to be compressed in the layer 3 to compensate for reduction of all stress by water pump-up. Excess void water pressure can thus be obviated, effective stress against the liquefaction of the ground S can be increased, and the reduction of all stresses around the piles 5 can be compensated. The earthquakeproofness of the structure 1 can thus be raised.
