Title:
PREVENTION OF BLOW HOLE OF SINTERED HARD ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59232243
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent blistering owing to blow holes by adding the oxide of a ferrous metal and carbon to a sintered hard alloy consisting of the carbide and nitride powder of the IIIa, IVA, Va groups and ferrous metallic powder as a binding metal.

CONSTITUTION: The oxide of a ferrous metal is added at 0.5W5wt% to a sintered hard alloy consisting of powder of ≥1 kind among the carbinde and nitride of the IIIa, IVa and Va groups of periodic law table and ferrous metallic powder as a binding metal. C of the amt. enough to reduce the above-mentioned oxide is further added thereto. Then the intentional generation of gas from the inside and the generation of a liquid phase from the entire part of the molding at a low temp. are made possible. If the ferrous metal is Co, CoO is brittle and intrudes among the flat particles of Co having malleability in the process in which CaO is finely ground with a wet type ball mill, thereby preventing the fluocculation of the Co particles and at the same time the C intrudes among these particles as well. As a result, the Co powder and the C powder are dispersed and the CO is generated in each part.
