PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preventing and/or improving agent of insulin resistance, particularly a preventing and/or improving agent of Insulin resistance for preventing and/or improving the insulin resistance caused by high fat food products/feed.SOLUTION: The invention discloses a preventing and/or improving agent of insulin resistance containing α,α-trehalose as an active ingredient, particularly a preventing and/or improving agent of insulin resistance for preventing and/or improving the insulin resistance caused by high fat food products/feed, the agent containing α,α-trehalose as an active ingredient. A method for preventing and/or improving insulin resistance, wherein a high fat food product containing an ingestible or administerable amount of α,α-trehalose at 0.02 g/kg/day or more in terms of anhydrate is ingested by a mammal except a human, is also disclosed.SELECTED DRAWING: None
