Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively prevent noise by a method in which the surface of a steel structure is coated with a tar-epoxy paint containing an inorganic powder to form a specific thickness or a comparatively small thickness.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a steel structure such as bridge is coated with a tar paint of a thickness of 4mm or more, prefetably 5-20 mm. As the tar paint, a tar-epoxy paint containing a specific amount of inorganic powder such as iron grits is used. Characteristic properties related to max. amplitude, extincting time, and horn of noise can thus be greatly improved.
