To provide a means capable of surely preventing a door of a storage furniture from being opened in an earthquake, and easy in fitting work.

A storage chamber 2 having a rope R in this device 1 is fixed to a cabinet body part S, and a tip part of the rope R is fitted to a door T. A locking mechanism built in the storage chamber 2 gives no troubles in pulling the rope R at the normal speed while it makes it impossible to pull out the rope R and prevents the door T from being opened when the door T is opened rapidly by the earthquake and the pull-out speed of the rope R is increased or when the vibration caused by the earthquake is detected. Since the rope R is stretched between the body part S and the door T, the degree of freedom in selecting the fitting position of the storage chamber 2 and the rope R is very large. Thus, the fitting work is very easy. No defective operation due to the positional deviation occurs, and the door T is surely prevented from being opened when the earthquake occurs.
