To provide a preventive maintenance technique which has excellent reliability after construction by inspecting a weld of a bottom mounted instrumentation nozzle in a reactor pressure vessel in advance to change a condition of build-up welding according to the presence or absence of any cracks.
A highly reliable preventive maintenance technique which can shorten the time for construction and can curb the amount of welding deformation due to build-up welding is attained by adjusting the thickness of build-up welding to an appropriate one according to the evaluation amount of crack extension toward a build-up welding side if any cracks are found, or by adjusting the thickness of build-up welding to the one that is the minimum thickness or above with surface modification taken into account if any cracks are not found, after a region for the construction is inspected in advance for the presence or absence of any cracks.
