PURPOSE: To obtain the titled preventive and remedy containing a resin glycoside.
CONSTITUTION: A preventive and remedy for protozoological disease containing one or more of the whole plant containing a resin glycoside [e.g. pharbitin, jarapin, orizabin, compound shown by formula I (R1 is H, etc.; R2 is mba, etc.; R3 is mba, etc.), compound shown by formula II (R1 is iba, etc.; R2 is H, etc., with the proviso that mba is α-methylbutyric acid and iba is iso-butyric acid), etc.] found in a plant of the family Convolvulaceae, raw or secondarily processed parts (e.g. blossom part, seed, root or stem part). Powder, dust, granule, tablet, solution, premix, injection, etc., may be used as the dosage form. The agent is directly added to feed, drink etc., or dispersed into a carrier and added. The amount of the agent is 1W20wt.%, preferably 2W10wt.% based on feed when the agent is added to feed. The agent is effective chicken coccidiosis, toxoplasmosis, malaria, etc.
