Abstract:

To obtain a primer composition for coating a substrate of a material having a low surface energy and a low hydrophilicity with an aqueous photocatalytic coating composition.

This primer composition is obtained by compounding an emulsion containing at least one kind of resin component of an acrylic resin, an acrylic-modified silicon resin and an acryloylsilane resin with 0.1-20 wt.% of a wetting agent and has 55% haze value as a coating film and ≤10 degree contact angle of water on the coating film. The primer composition is used and an aqueous photocatalytic coating composition is top coated on the primer composition into a film to give a photocatalytic body having a high fixation strength to the surface of a substrate.
