Abstract:

To obtain a primer composition for fixing a photocatalytic thin film to a plastic substrate without peeling of the film in outdoor long-term use, and a photocatalytic member.

In the primer composition comprising an organic inorganic hybrid polymer and a solvent, the difference between the solubility parameter(SP) value of the solvent and that of a substrate is adjusted to ≤1.6 or 20-90 wt.% solvent having a difference between its solubility parameter(SP) value and the SP value of a substrate of ≤1.6 is incorporated to give a primer composition for providing a photocatalytic member having good external appearance, initial hydrophilicity, and secondary adhesion. Since a photocatalytic thin film is further formed on a coating film of the primer composition, the photocatalytic member having good external appearance, initial hydrophilicity, and secondary adhesion can be provided.
