A plurality of printers 4A to 4D are connected to a print server 3 in a communication-enabled manner. The print server 3 instructs a standby mode for each printer 4A to 4C. Thus, when two or more printers among the plurality of printers 4A to 4C stand by a printing job, the at least one printer stands by the printing job while turning on a power source for a fixing unit heat fixing toner to recording paper and the other one or more printers stand by the printing job with the power source of the fixing unit off. Furthermore, the print server 3 selects the printer with shortest time for sending the printing job to the printer among printers 4A to 4D to each of which the printing job is sent, then an approval regarding print with that printer is acquired from a user.
