Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a simply constituted printed antenna with high radiation efficiency and high gain provided with a bidirectional property in a direction perpendicular to the surface of a printed board.
CONSTITUTION: This antenna is provided with a dielectric substrate 13, at least a pair of the radiation patches 11 and 12 of the same shape and the same dimension respectively provided on mutually opposing positions on the front and back surfaces of the substrate, power feeding circuits 14-17 connected to at least one edge of the radiation patches for feeding power to the patches, a ground conductor 17 formed with a clearance to the edge connected to the power feeding circuit of the radiation patch 12 and the edge opposite to the edge at least on the back surface, first strip conductors 14 and 15 coupled with the radiation patch 11 on the front surface and a second strip conductor 16 for coupling the ground conductor 17 and the radiation patch 12 on the back surface. The power feeding circuit is composed of an unbalanced power feeding line and a balanced power feeding line.
