Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deliver a signature from a first carrier to a second carrier by a simple mechanism and a compact device and also discharge the signature from the first carrier without touching the second carrier.
SOLUTION: In this printed matter carrying device, the signature F held by the first holding mechanism 11 of the first carrier 10 is received and carried by the second holding mechanism 24 of the second carrier 20. A holding and closing position for receiving the signature from a delivery fan by the first holding mechanism is provided on the moving direction upstream side of the chain of the first carrier, and a holding and opening position is provided on the downstream side thereof. The holding and opening position is movable between a "first position" for receiving the signature held by the first holding mechanism of the first carrier by the second holding mechanism of the second carrier and the "other positions". When the first holding mechanism is located at the other positions, the second holding mechanism is not interfered with the signature held by the first holding mechanism.
