To provide a printed matter measuring method by which the correct measurement of printed matter can be correctly executed.

This method comprises: a reference paper imaging process which picks up an image of reference paper to obtain first image data; a specified control point designating process which designates a specified control point; a first reference point designating process which designates a pair of first reference points for designating the position of an image; a printed matter imaging process which picks up an image of printed matter actually printed to obtain second image data; a reference point designating process which designates the paired second reference points corresponding to the first reference points; a calculation process which calculates the position of corresponding control points corresponding to the designated control points based on the first and second reference points; an extraction process which extracts image data near each specified control point and image data near each corresponding control point; and a correction process which corrects the position of each corresponding control point of the second image data by comparing the image data near each specified control point with the image data near each corresponding control point.
