Abstract:
PURPOSE: To optionally print outline font which is not provided in a printer as needed without preparing a printing font extension function in the main body of the printer.
CONSTITUTION: This adapter is provided with a font ROM 3 for storing outline font data not provided in the main body of the printer, a higher rank interface 2, a printer interface 6 and a processor (MPU) 1 for deliverying reception data through the printer interface 6 to the printer when the data received at the higher rank interface 2 are not accompanied by font ROM access, generating dot image data by the font ROM access and deliverying them through the printer interface 6 to the printer when the data are accompanied by the font RUM access.
