Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce the instantaneous maximum current, by providing two arrays of head pins for performing printing and a cam for changing the pitch between said two adjacent head pin arrays. CONSTITUTION:Two arrays of printing head pins 3a and 3b are held by a head 2 in a cantilever structure. Free ends of the head pins in each of the arrays 3a and 3b are bundled by a guide 4, to be aligned right and left. The opposing end faces 4a of the two guides 4 are rendered vertical. A cam 5 having an oval cam surface is intervened between the guides 4 in a manner than the cam surface of the cam 5 abuts on the opposing end faces 4a of the guides 4. The cam 5 is coupled to a motor 1 via a shaft 6. Accordingly, when the cam 5 is rotated angularly, the guides 4 displace right and left in a accordance with the displacement amount of the cam surface of the cam 5, whereby the pitch between the head pin arrays 3a and 3b placed right and left is changed.
