PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and the like operated on the basis of setting information, capable of easily changing and switching the setting information, and improving a back-up function of the setting information.SOLUTION: A printer operated on the basis of setting information, includes: first and second memory portions which store the setting information; and a setting information control portion which determines whether the setting information should be read out from the first memory portion or the second memory portion, on the basis of predetermined information stored in the second memory portion.
