Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of suppressing the deterioration of printing quality due to clogging of an ink nozzle which occurs between the flushing at a maintenance position and paper flushing.SOLUTION: In a printer 1, a detection position A of a label 102 and a stand-by position C of a label paper 103 are set on both sides of a printing position B of a conveyance path 8. When printing data is supplied, flushing is performed at a maintenance position D. Further, fastening conveyance amount conveyance operation for conveying the label paper 103 in a second conveyance direction G2 proceeding to the detection position A is performed and, thereafter, the label paper 103 is conveyed in the first conveyance direction G1 and the label 102 is detected at the detection position A. Upon the detection point of the label 102, it is judged that estimated lapse time until the printing is performed on the label 102 exceeds a limit time or not and, when the estimated lapse time exceeds the limit time, the printing head 2 is returned to the maintenance position D without performing the printing on the label 102 to perform the flushing.
