Abstract:
A printing press roller (10) is surface-treated by applying one or more adhesion-promoting, corrosion-resistant or wear-resistant layers (21, 24) by the plasma-spraying process to the running surface of the roller (10). To improve the adhesion properties of the layers (21, 24) on the base material (20) of the roller, and the paper-running properties, the layers (21, 24) are fused onto the whole surface and preferably finely distributed recesses (32) are fused into each outermost layer (24).
