To solve the problem wherein when a digital camera is connected to a printer device for direct print, the printer device needs to operate as a host, and if the digital camera as a device operationally requires its own power source in the form of a removable battery, battery exhaustion during printing causes a shutdown during printing.
A digital camera is connectable direct to a printer device via communication means. The digital camera comprises notifying means for notifying the printer device of authentication information showing whether there is a direct print function or not via the communication means in an initial stage of connection to the printer device, and power receiving means for receiving power supply from the printer device according to authentication by the printer device responding to the authentication information notification.
