Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying unit that uniformly dries a printer ink layer.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a printer ink drying unit comprising at least one ultraviolet light source for drying a printer ink layer by vaporizing a solvent from the printer ink layer. The solvent is vaporized from printer ink including at least one coloring agent, and ultraviolet light emitted from at least one light source brings coloring agent absorption efficiency higher than solvent absorption efficiency. The light source comprises an array of ultraviolet light emitting diodes, and the solvent is heated substantially through heat conduction from the coloring agent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
