Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect discharge abnormality generated in an inkjet head with a simple and suitable method.SOLUTION: A printer 10 performing inkjet printing includes an inkjet head 12 having nozzles for discharging ink drops, a drawn line reading section 14 for reading the state of a line drawn on a medium 50 with a nozzle 102 by discharging the ink drops on the medium 50 from the nozzle 102, and a discharge abnormality detecting section 24 for detecting the discharge abnormality where a state of the ink drops discharged from the nozzle 102 is deviated from the standard state. The discharge abnormality detecting section 24 determines whether the nozzle 102 having drawn the line is in a state of the discharge abnormality based on the state of the line read by the drawn line reading section 14.
