Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process a page description language data and a job packeted data selectively by providing a processing operation determining means which switches a method for processing a print data not subjected to job packeting and a method for processing a job packeted data.
SOLUTION: A printer 350 sorts a receiving packet data into a job packet and a management packet which are delivered to a compatible operation determining section 360 and an information managing section 361, respectively, through a data channel and a management channel. On the other hand, the printer 350 delivers a page description laguage (PDL) data to the compatible operation determining section 360 through a data channel. Based on a data received from the data channel, the compatible operation determining section 360 makes a decision whether the print data is a job packeted print data or not and switches operation of a print system. Consequently, a PDL print data and a job packeted data can be processed selectively.
