To realize the nail printing on a nail that is long in a lengthwise direction of a finger without using a nail chip.SOLUTION: A printer including a printing unit detects a nail region from a finger image obtained by imaging a finger being a printing object (step S3), generates an extended nail region formed by extending the nail region detected from the finger image to a root side of the nail (step S8), for example, displays the finger image on a display unit and displays the nail region so as to be overlapped on the finger image (step S4), receives an extension operation for extending the nail region to the root side of the nail on the finger image displayed on the display unit via an operation unit (steps S5, S7), generates the extended nail region on the basis of an extension operation (step S8), and displays the generated extended nail region so as to be overlapped on the finger image (step S9). The printer controls a printing unit so as to perform printing on a region corresponding to the extended nail region of the finger being the printing object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
