To prepare a marginless print by transferring without hiding the printing direction leading edge of a recording paper.

An adhesive layer 21 adhesively holding a color thermal recording paper 3 from the printing direction leading edge 3a to the rear edge 3b of the reverse side thereof is formed on the outside periphery of a platen drum 17. To deliver the paper, the platen drum 17 is rotated in the direction of delivery and a separation member 30 is made to butt against the outside periphery thereof. The rear edge 3b of the color thermal recording paper 3 not adhesively held by the adhesive layer 21 is scooped up by the separation member 30 and the part adhesively held by the adhesive layer 21 is separated from the adhesive layer 21 by the separation member 30. The color thermal recording paper 3 separated is delivered to a delivery tray 27.
