Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method in which a printing material is scraped off with a doctor blade, and in which the printing material remaining on a printing plate is effectively removed without enlarging a device constitution.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a plate holding part for holding an intaglio plate; a doctor blade for scraping off a printing material adhered to a plate surface by abutting on the plate surface of the intaglio plate held by the plate holding part; a relative movement part for relatively moving the plate holding part and the doctor blade in a first direction that is parallel to the plate surface, and for accumulating the printing material scraped off by the doctor blade in a stripe shape that is parallel to a longer direction of the doctor blade, in a margin region not containing a streak part of a plate surface peripheral portion; and a cleaning part for moving relatively to the intaglio plate in a second direction, that is parallel to the plate surface and crossing the first direction, while abuttingly or adjacently opposing the margin region where the printing material is accumulated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
