Abstract:
To efficiently remove a margin from a medium manually by an operator.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: printing means that performs a printing process using print data; cutting means that performs a cutting process using cutting data; a margin area acquisition means that acquires a margin area of a margin where print product has not been printed in a printing region of a medium; comparison determination means that determines whether the margin area has exceeded a margin area reference value; a margin dividing means that, when a comparison determination means determines that the margin area has exceeded the margin area reference value, generates a plurality of separate margin parts by dividing the margin into regions, each of which is equal to or smaller than a margin area reference value; margin dividing means that sets an interface between the separate margin parts to a preset angle; cutting data generation means that generates cutting data for cutting the interface; and cutting control means that exerts control such that, based on the cutting data, the cutting means cuts the interface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
