To provide a label printer which enables an operator to arbitrarily switch to normal printing or immediate printing.

A printer includes: a first accepting portion accepting a commodity whose label is to be printed by a printing portion; a display control section displaying printing information on the printing of the label of the accepted commodity on a display portion; a second accepting portion accepting a printing instruction for the label of the accepted commodity, after the printing information is displayed on the display portion; and a switching section for switching to a first printing mode in which the label of the commodity is printed according to the printing information displayed when the printing instruction is accepted or a second printing mode in which the label of the commodity is printed according to the printing information previously set for each commodity. When switching to the first printing mode is performed, the printing instruction is accepted and then, the label of the accepted commodity is printed according to the displayed printing information and when switching to the second printing mode is performed, the label of the accepted commodity is printed according to the previously set printing information of the accepted commodity.
