To provide a printer which can be set in a rack by avoiding the need for performing sheet feed work from the left/right side while feeding a sheet in the left/right direction of the printer.
The printer 10 comprises a section 12 for containing a plurality of print sheets 31 while stacking, sheet feed mechanisms 15a and 15b for feeding out the print sheet, sheet by sheet, from the print sheet containing section, a print mechanism 20 performing specified print processing on a print sheet thus fed out, a housing 11 for the print sheet containing section, the sheet feed mechanisms and the print mechanism, and a sheet discharge mechanism 16 for feeding out the printed print sheet to the outside of the housing. The housing 11 has a bottom surface 11e and an upper surface 11f parallel with each other, and a front surface 11a substantially perpendicular to the bottom surface and the upper surface. The print sheet containing section 12 can be opened to the front surface 11a side of the housing 11. The sheet feed mechanisms and the sheet discharge mechanism feed out the print sheet in the left/right direction of the housing.
