To propose a printer which can easily perform mounting operation of an ink ribbon cartridge.
A check processing apparatus (printer) 1 includes: a mounting part 13 on which the ink ribbon cartridge 12 is mounted; and a guiding parts 17-20 for guiding the ink ribbon cartridges 12 toward the mounting part 13 from four ways of the ink ribbon cartridge 12 when the ink ribbon cartridge 12 is mounted. On the ink ribbon cartridge 12 inserted into an opening 2c for mounting in a mounting posture 12A, inclination in the front and back direction is regulated by bringing the guide part 17 and the guide part 18 into contact with each other, and by bringing the guide part 19 into contact with the guide part 20, it is guided into the mounting part 13 under a condition that the inclination in the right and left direction is not changed. Therefore, the ink ribbon cartridge 12 inserted into the opening 2c for mounting, is moved toward the mounting part 13 by being pushed downward, while holding a posture close to the mounting posture 12A, and is mounted on the mounting part 13.
