A control unit 103 puts the light receiving unit 103 in a transmission mode to transmit light until a preset time elapses from the time when a predetermined operation is performed from the outside of the printer 100, and puts the light receiving unit 103 in an interruption mode to interrupt light at other times. The light transmitted by the light receiving unit 101 is printed on photosensitive paper held in a photosensitive paper unit 102 as an image.
