Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that is able to restricts a decrease in printing speed while ensuring print quality by preheating a heating element so as not to exceed the limit of the number of on-dots according to priority provide for the heating element to be preheated.SOLUTION: If M_DARA(X,Y) of a heating element corresponding to an X value of a line corresponding to a Y value is 0, a CPU performs preheat data formation process. If M_DARA(X,Y+1) of a heating element corresponding to an X value in the next line corresponding to Y+1 is 1 (S71:YES), the CPU makes determination for M_DARA(X+1,Y+1), M_DARA(X-1,Y+1) of the two adjacent heating elements (S72, S74). As 0 increases, P_DATA(X,Y) indicating priority is set to a larger value (S73, S76, S78). When printing for a line corresponding to Y value, the CPU determines, as an application target and based on the priority, a heating element that does not increase the maximum number of on-dots.
