Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of selecting a medium of a kind suitable for each of fax printing and maintaining printing and performing the fax printing and the maintaining printing.SOLUTION: A printer includes a plurality of feeding trays. If a print mode is a FAX mode (affirmation determination in S1), the printer performs FAX tray selection processing and selects the feeding tray at a priority at which plain paper and recycled paper are equal (S2). FAX printing then is performed on the selected plain paper or the recycled paper (S3). On the other hand, if the print mode is a maintenance mode (affirmation determination in S4), the printer performs maintaining tray selection processing and selects the plain paper, and when there is not the plain paper, select the feeding tray by selecting the recycled paper (S5). The printer then prints a checking pattern on whiter plain paper in preference to the recycled paper (S6).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
