Abstract:
To provide a printer which can equally apply a pressing force to an ink ribbon by a thermal head and can reduce a possibility that the thermal head inclines relative to a conveyance path of the ink ribbon when the thermal head is moved from a printing position.SOLUTION: A printer includes a base, a thermal head 3, a head holding member 4, a ball lock mechanism 10 and a return mechanism. The thermal head 3 has a plurality of heating elements arrayed in a first direction. The head holding member 4 is supported in a slidable manner in a second direction relative to the base. The ball lock mechanism 10 is provided on the thermal head 3 or the head holding member 4, and the thermal head 3 is connected detachably to the head holding member 4 and the thermal head 3 is connected to the head holding member 4 so as to be slidable around a third direction. The return mechanism returns an attitude of the thermal head 3 around the third direction relative to the head holding member 4 to a reference position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
