Abstract:
To discriminate whether or not communication with an RFID tag provided in a mounted cassette is correctly performed.SOLUTION: A printer 2 includes: a cassette holder CH; an antenna 14; a print head 10; and a CPU. The cassette 100 has an RFID tag T having a tag antenna which stores cassette information and can communicate with the antenna 14. The cassette holder CH is configured so that communication sensitivity between the tag antenna and the antenna 14 when mounting the cassette 100 is different for each kind of the cassette 100. The CPU controls communication with the RFID tag T. A memory 43 stores correlation between a plurality of voltage ranges of reply energy from the RFID tag T and the kind of the cassette 100. Further, the CPU determines whether or not a value of the reply energy obtained in the antenna 14 is included in any one of the voltage ranges in the correlation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
