Abstract:
PURPOSE: To print the information in a good manner by varying automatically the pattern size for printing in compliance with the width of ink tapes.
CONSTITUTION: A printer comprises a thermal printing head 8, on which the given number of printing elements are arranged, ink tapes 35 and 36 having optional width in the range of arranged direction of printing elements and transferring ink to tapes 33 and 34 to be printed by respective printing elements, a tape width sensing section for sensing the width of ink tapes 35 and 36 when the ink tapes 35 and 36 are set on the thermal printing head 8 and a control section for controlling the printing in compliance with the width of ink tapes 35 and 36 sensed by the tape width sensing section.
