Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital printer which can engrave a printing plate by one laser printing plate engraving unit and to print by using the formed printing plate.
SOLUTION: A printing plate engraving mechanism is provided in addition to a printing mechanism. The engraving mechanism has an engraving cylinder 50, a printing plate material cassette 12, a laser engraving unit 13, a developing unit 14 and a fixing unit 15 disposed around the cylinder 50. At the time of engraving, a printing plate material is removed from the cassette 12, and set to the periphery of the cylinder 50. The material is recorded with an image corresponding to the printing color by the unit 13, the image is developed by the unit 14, and fixed by the unit 15. The plate recorded with the image is fed from the cylinder 50 to an impression cylinder 11 by a plate delivering unit 46, and further conveyed to respective plate cylinders 17 via a blanket cylinder 16. Thus, the plate can be engraved in parallel with the engraving mechanism including the cylinder 50 while printing by the printing mechanism.
