Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of detecting a near end of a roll-type memory medium by a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A printer 101 includes a recording medium housing part 130 housing a recording medium roll 120 around which a belt-like recording medium is wound, and performs printing on the recording medium 121 delivered from the recording medium roll 120. The recording medium housing part 130 includes: a placing part 140 where the recording medium roll 120 is placed; a groove part 150 having an opening part 151 with a prescribed width in a radius direction of the recording medium roll 120 vertically set under the placing part 140 and placed on the placing part 140; and detection means detecting the recording medium roll 120 fallen down to the groove part 150 from the placing part 140.
