PURPOSE: To provide a printer in which picture data having excellent quality can be printed to be output by suitably eliminating superposition, omission of prints due to delay of sheet feeding operation of a record sheet feeding mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: A printer prints picture data to be output on a record sheet K fed by a motor-driven record sheet feeding mechanism 3 by each one line by a print head 2, and comprises control means 4, 5, 14 for delaying a timing for transmitting a command signal S2 for starting a print output of the data of one line to the head 2 from a transmitting timing of a command signal S1 for starting a sheet feeding operation of one line to a drive motor M of the mechanism 3 by a predetermined constant time.
