Whether a manual type printer main body is under printing state or not is judged at the step S11. When the main body is under a printing state or under the Yes state of the step S11, the inclinatory state of the manual type printer main body is calculated at the step S12. On the basis of a calculated value, whether the change of the inclination of an ink jet head is necessary or not is judged at the step S14. When th change is necessary or under the Yes state of the step S14, the value of change for changing the inclination by driving an actuator driving circuit is calculated at the step S15. On the basis of the result of calculation, the actuator driving circuit is actuated at the step S16. As a result, an actuator unit is actuated by a predetermined amount, resulting in realizing a positional state, in which the nozzle at the tip of the ink jet head and paper are parallel to each other and a certain distance is held between them at all times.
